I asked my dentist … is there fluoride in the drinking water?
And he said, yeah … it’s good for your teeth. So then I began to wonder,
if it’s so good for your teeth, why am I, at 25 years old,
having all these issues with my teeth?

It’s so heartening to see people taking action against fluoridation, acting on science instead of spin! All across the country, pro-fluoride lobbyists too often seem to call the shots and elected officials, defer. In Oregon, by the way, they appear to have skirted reporting regulations in meeting with such lobbyists, as well.
According to a recently filed disclosure, lobbyists reported meeting with Commissioners Randy Leonard on July 26, Dan Saltzman and Nick Fish on Aug. 2, Amanda Fritz on Aug. 6 and Mayor Adams on Aug. 27 to push for fluoride in public drinking water.
But those same city officials –who are required to publicly post their calendars on a quarterly basis – either didn’t disclose the meetings about fluoride or left a vague subject heading. Adams and Leonard say they weren’t actually present at the meetings.
When people learn the truth about fluoride and fluoridation – well summarized in the video above – they stand against it, regardless of what the politicians say, which can often amount to little more than ADA talking points. It’s what grassroots democracy looks like.
Recently, Houston mayor Annise Parker was asked if she’d ever change her mind about fluoridation, considering her reputation for supporting environmentally-friendly policies. Her response?

Just as citizens in Portland, Wichita and other communities have done, we can take action locally. Here, we have Fluoride-Free Houston working to change minds and policy here at home. Why not get involved, too? Why not contact Mayor Parker and city council directly about your concerns and preference for un-drugged water?

I think all city governments … need to reconsider water fluoridation.
The science is out there, the citizens who are concerned are out there,
and they are making their voices known.
